The choir meets during the fall, winter and spring and rehearses at the church on Wednesday evenings. In the summer, a pick-up choir called the Ashtones sings the first Sunday of the month and meets at 9 am before the 10:00 service. All voices welcome.

Music during Lent and Easter 2022
Easter Sunday anthems for April 17 include "This Joyful Eastertide" by Charles Wood as well as "Let All the World in Every Corner Sing" by Hugh Roberton.
For the last Sunday in April, the Choir is preparing for the April 24, 4:00 p.m. Organ Celebration Series concert rather than morning worship. The Choir will sing "With a Voice of Singing" by twentieth century English composer Martin Shaw, and will be accompanied by Dennis Ainsworth (Heath Union Church.) The Choir will also join Keith Rollinson (Trinity Church, Shelburne Falls) in leading the audience in hymn singing. First Congregational Church UCC of Ashfield, MA, an Open and Affirming Congregation, seeks an experienced musician to play organ and piano for weekly Sunday morning worship as well as accompany the choir for twenty-six mid-week rehearsals/Sundays. Position is approximately quarter time. Ashfield is a rural community with easy access to the Five College Area which includes the UMass flagship campus as well as Smith, Mount Holyoke, Amherst, and Hampshire Colleges. Additional opportunities arise to play with a variety of guest instrumentalists and soloists. Classical training is preferred, with ability to work in other styles. The Organist/Choir Accompanist works closely with the minister, choir director, and worship team. The sanctuary holds a recently restored 1903 George Reed tracker organ and a baby grand piano.
