HILLTOWN CHURCHES FOOD PANTRY
The Hilltown Churches Food Pantry distributes food from Friendship Hall (the downstairs of the Ashfield Congregational Church.) It serves those in need from the eleven hill towns of Ashfield, Buckland, Charlemont, Colrain, Conway, Hawley, Heath, Monroe, Plainfield, Rowe and Shelburne. The only requirement for joining the Food Pantry is proof of residency in one of these eleven towns and a simple statement of need. There are no income requirements -- if you need food please come and sign up.
We returned in April to our pre-Covid food distribution hours of every other Tuesday from 3-6 pm. The pantry will continue to operate on the pandemic "drive through" model for the time being. We typically serve about 600 people at each distribution. We have distribution calendars available at the Food Pantry.
We rely on donations of money and food for our continued operation. We spend 96-98% of our budget directly on food. Through our partnership with the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts, your donation will help us leverage our resources to provide food for our neighbors in need. Checks may be made payable to Hilltown Churches Food Pantry and mailed to PO Box 161, Ashfield MA 01330. We thank you for your support.
In February, 2021, we partnered with St. John's Episcopal Church in Ashfield for Socks for Wintertime. We collected enough socks to give each family a pair or two for each family member.
